These kinds of upheavals are common during Mercury Retrograde. It’s a notorious time when the planet of communication appears to move backward in the sky, making waves for all of us here on earth.

And it happens a lot too!

Mercury is about to go retrograde for the third time this year, and will do it again a fourth and final time before 2022 is over.

The next Mercury Retrograde starts September 9th or 10th (depending on where you live), and could bring powerful revelations about yourself and your relationships to light.

This is because Mercury will start its retrograde in the social sign of Libra, which rules over intimate connections, personal relationships, and how we get along with others.

Relationship issues, ugly truths, secret crushes, and conflicts that have been swept under the rug to “keep the peace” won’t stay hidden easily during this time.

You’ll likely feel the need to balance the scales in your relationships, and get things out on the table to see if real harmony is possible.

And what you learn could really surprise you.

It’s bound to be a fascinating, and at times… frustrating three weeks.

Restoring The Balance

Have you ever pretended to like something because you wanted to make someone else happy?

Maybe you’ve been in a situation where you held back your true feelings and stayed quiet because you didn’t want to create conflict.

This can be a safe way to navigate social settings, but it can also cut you off from your true power and authenticity.

Libra is the peacemaker of the Zodiac.

And while this sign is wonderful at resolving conflicts with others, it can sometimes resort to dishonesty to make things more peaceful.

With Mercury Retrograde in Libra, the hidden price you’ve paid for peace and harmony will start to become obvious to you, and may cause an eruption of frustration that has been slowly building under the surface.

However, the true purpose of conflicts during this time is to help you find balance between your own needs and the needs of others.

Libra rules over all relationships.

So while Mercury is retrograde in Libra, it could reunite you with an ex lover that you have unfinished business with.

Don’t be surprised if people from your past come out of the woodwork.

It could be that they want to reconnect for good and build a stronger relationship. Or they might just come around for one last look before letting go and moving on.

This phenomena doesn’t just apply to lovers, but long lost friends, family members, and business relationships too.

Missed connections can be rekindled and estranged relationships can be repaired during this time.

Or you might receive the closure you need to heal your heart and move forward with clarity.

If you’ve had someone on your mind, the retrograde could be a good time to reach out and reconnect.

Confessions of love are also likely.

If someone has been holding back their feelings about you for a while, the Mercury Retrograde might just give them the push they need to open up about it.

Keep in mind that from September 9th and 10th until October 2nd, it is not a good time to start a new relationship or meet someone for the first time.

Interestingly, Mercury won’t stay in the sign of Libra for the entire retrograde.

On September 26th it will enter the domain of Virgo, bringing an entirely different energy into your life.

For the last week of the retrograde, you may notice your attention turn to the practical, physical aspects of your life.

Disorganized paperwork and emails, or electronics that have been malfunctioning and in need of repair could become a bigger issue from the 26th of September until October 2nd.

If you’re worried that this influence might affect your life, try to get a head start on fixing things now to avoid a greater problem down the road.
It could feel like you’re wading through molasses in the workplace.

Projects could get delayed, or you might discover a flaw in something you’ve been working on, forcing you to go back to the beginning and start over.

Your patience could certainly be tested during this time.

But if you focus on the details and remember to breathe, you will come out of the other end of this retrograde feeling more grounded and organized than ever.

As always, Mercury Retrograde is not a good time to sign important documents like leases or business contracts.

If you can hold out until after October 2nd, you’ll be in the clear.

All in all, it’s going to be a powerful time for you to get in touch with your inner truth, balance your relationships, and get your physical world a bit more organized.
