So let’s take a look at the situation card. This is a lovely situation card when it comes to the romantic sphere. This is a time of celebration and joy. The Three of Cups, you can see these three women enjoying one another. There’s a bountifulness of things. So sometimes this shows up when we’re really enjoying the friendships that are around us. The obstacle is showing up as our Queen of Swords and the Queen of Swords is well known to be actually somebody who has lost their husband. She is considered to be a little bit overly in her head, very protective of her heart. While she’s masterful at being sort of decisive and clear thinking and seeing the long view of things, she’s not particularly connected with her emotional realm. In other words, she tends to be an individual who has felt deep sorrow, deep pain, maybe even deep betrayal. And now her safety zone is up in the sky, is up in the mental realm. She’d rather not dig deep down into her heart because it’s a bit too much. So it’s interesting the mixture of the cups and specifically alcohol, though it doesn’t have to be alcohol. The cups here are a way into a certain part of the emotional realm that maybe she doesn’t fully feel safe to touch in her day-to-day life.

In other words, there’s an element of control here needing things to be a particular way in order to feel safe enough to enter into relationship. So for some of you, this might look like being hyper protective in your dating world or being hyper protective with who it is that you let close to you. Even if you’re in a relationship, this can mean having your walls up and being even kind of dangerously sharp towards the people that want to come close to you. She’s got her sword, she’s got an incredible defense mechanism, an incredible type of intellectual clarity that can be intimidating to others. And this might be showing up in your world as a way of protecting a particular type of sensitivity in yourself. For others, it’s possible that you’re coming into contact with somebody like this, somebody that feels a little bit aloof, distant, it’s hard to feel their warmth they’re holding back in a particular way.

This is definitely a particular kind of obstacle that is afraid or that is trying to avoid intimacy because of what it might bring with it. And it makes complete sense that some of the situation can be this place of greater celebration that doesn’t necessarily deepen into true intimacy. It’s kind of like, yay, we can have a celebratory excursions with one another, but I don’t know if I really want to dip into the deep intimacy that is available.

The Seven of Wands is a sign that there is progress that’s going to happen around what might be some blocks around intimacy, but it’s going to be a little bit rot with some of the complexities that can show up with needing to grow down. You can tell that that’s where things are headed and that’s why this feels pretty intense because you know where things are going, but it hasn’t quite gotten there yet. Well, let me tell you that that is the direction that things are heading. So the advice card is a sign that things have not fully landed yet. So be willing to be open to messages to people reaching out to you, to the process of grounding this next phase into life. I don’t know if I’m supposed to be in this place or in this relationship or things are never going to get better.

It’s a place of just a lot of fear, uncertainty, feeling trapped. You can see she’s meant to be up in this castle here, but she’s kind of wandered away from her place down into this boggy space. And she’s now surrounded by these swords which represent thoughts and the realm of suffering in the mind. She’s trapped in those places. She’s tied up. There’s even a ritualistic element to this whole thing she can’t see, she can’t move. So this is paralysis. So for some of you, this can be a sign that you are in a relationship that you feel very trapped in. You feel very stuck. There’s something that’s wrong, you don’t know whether to turn towards it more or run away from it. It just isn’t going the way that you want it to and you’re not sure what to do about it. For others, this can be a sign that maybe you’re really struggling with being single, you’re feeling like it’s hopeless, like you’re never going to meet the right person.

You’re not sure what to do. It feels like you’ve tried everything and nothing is opening up for you. So at the end of the day, the best way to move with the Eight of Swords is to get down into your body, go do some exercise, take a walk, move incredibly slow like walking, meditation, that sort of thing, and get in touch with the emotions that are at the core. The mind is spinning a ton of stories and it’s because something in you is really scared. And if you bring some attention, some loving attention and some space to what’s afraid in you, you might start to calm down and your mind might begin to move at a pace that lets you see what’s going on around you. At the end of the day, it’s like emotional discharge needs to happen, something needs to move so that you can create a bit of space to see things with more clarity.

Alright, let’s take a look at your obstacle card. Good lord. So the Nine of Swords is obviously it follows the Eight of Swords. So this is actually really good and this is an important piece because this cycle that you happen to be in, this place where you’re in maybe some uncertainty, some doubt, some fears that are going on here, the Nine of Swords is a sign that this is not, is not something that’s just a moment in time. You’ve experienced this at other points in your life. In other words, even the nine of swords can be a sign that this is something that maybe you inherited from your parents or that you inherited from the culture writ large. It’s a bigger pattern and a bigger process than just this moment and just you. So the reason that this is actually a good sign is you can look at it with a little bit more detachment.

Something here is being processed through your life and through your world that is bigger than just you. So you can take enough room and take enough space to look at it with some more clarity. This is likely a relational pattern that maybe came from your parents or that you’ve seen show up or crop up in your life at different times. And the good news is you’re starting to see it. You’re starting to see that there’s a pattern here, which means that you can begin to get curious about it. You can find the right, kind of help, the right kind of assistance to help you undo these patterns, unlock this particular piece. And the other piece is that it may not be personal, which means that you can look at it as something that you’re healing not just for yourself, but that you’re healing for life in general or you’re healing for your family line.

Alright, let’s take a look at your outcome card here. So outcome card is the Five of Cups. This is a great card because it’s letting us know that maybe some of what’s got you stuck is something that’s from the past, something that’s kind of got you in the heart or has you in your emotions and that you’ve been sort of stuck in. The other piece that’s really good about this Five of Cups situation is this is a card of sacrifice. When this is in a outcome position, it can be a card that’s about, okay, so I need to make some changes. And in that process I might have to let go of some of these cups in order to take the rest of me forward. So when we’re needing to make a big decision or we’re needing to make a big change, it can be pretty painful because we’ll likely be losing parts of ourselves, parts of the way that we’ve done things in the past, or even people that are no longer resonating with us.

We’re going to have to let ’em go. But the good news is that we’re going to actually be able to move forward, traverse the bridge, make our way to new land, fertile land. So this can be a sign of being ready to make the healthy sacrifices that need to be made so that you can grow down the line.

Alright, let’s take a look at the advice card. For those of you that chose this third card, the advice card is let yourself feel it.
