03 Jul You Deserve A Break | Weekly Tarot Reading | 7/3 – 7/9
Hello Tarot Friends,
This is Jonathan with your Weekly Tarot Reading.
You have entered a powerful time of transformation where you could find yourself walking away from something in your life, or at the very least taking a much needed break.
The cards this week show that you are on the cusp of a breakthrough that could invigorate your life and spark a new sense of inspiration.
But getting to these fresh and vital waters will require facing important realities, and willingness to unclog old emotions.
No matter which way you look at it, this is a potent week.
So let’s explore the opportunities headed your way…
Card #1: Eight of Cups | A New Adventure
The Eight of Cups symbolizes letting go, walking away, and searching for greener pastures. At its core, the Eight of Cups is about seeking out a fresh perspective in order to reinspire you
On one end of the spectrum, you might feel like something in your life needs to be enlivened because it has grown repetitive and stale.
The man in the image is leaving behind a swamp-like area. He is leaving the valley for higher ground in hopes of finding a new vision or experience.
Throughout the ages, mountains have been viewed as sacred places to seek spiritual wisdom and guidance for life.
There could be something that feels stuck, too mundane, or simply uninspiring. In which case, the Eight of Cups is inviting you to search for higher inspiration.
It could be time to take a sabbatical, go on a spiritual retreat, or get a change of scenery for a while. If you choose to return to your current life, you can bring with you the inspiration you receive after this sacred “walkabout.”
On the other end of the spectrum, the Eight of Cups can indicate the need to leave a situation altogether. You may feel a sense of restlessness or lack of vitality around your current situation that is making you want to shake things up.
This desire to leave doesn’t need to be a result of your current circumstances being totally unworkable or awful. It just might be time for a change.
Regardless of how it’s showing up for you, it’s worthwhile noting that the man in the image doesn’t know what he will find ahead on his adventure.
This is a key aspect of any “hero’s journey.” Not knowing what you might find is the first challenge to pass through.
It takes courage to step forward into the unknown.
What you might already be clear on is that where you are now isn’t giving you the sustenance you crave, even if you don’t know exactly what it is you are searching for yet.
The other thing that’s important to pay attention to is there is no promise you will find what you think you are looking for.
What you can bet on, is if you decide to set out, you will certainly be changed by the experiences you face in the adventure ahead.
If your next card is any indication of what’s to come, there is a strong possibility you are looking for belonging, which could show up as a result of travel, reunion, or a celebration.
Card #2: Four of Wands | A Joyful Return
The Four of Wands represents celebration, stability, and feeling at home. When the Four of Wands arrives in a reading it’s often a sign of returning to a sense of belonging.
You could be gearing up for a wedding, an important celebration of some kind, or a much anticipated vacation.
Whatever the case may be, the Four of Wands is about relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family.
The image on the card depicts two women standing together in celebration. They are welcoming the viewer of the card into a grand party, as if you were returning from a long journey.
This is why the Four of Wands tends to arrive after you’ve worked hard on something, or come home from travel.
You are being welcomed to a more stable place, where you can take a nice exhale, and enjoy the fruits of your labor for a while.
If you consider your first card, it’s possible time away, or time celebrating, could be exactly what you need in order to revive your inspiration.
It’s also possible you have found a community that really resonates with you. These are your people! The sense of belonging you experience could be really strong which lends itself to inspiration and new found joy.
Of course if your new community is somewhere other than where you live right now, you might find yourself in a bit of a quandary.
Your next card is a sign you could experience emotional loss or heartache in the coming days.
Card #3: Three of Swords | A Gateway Into New Life
The Three of Swords is a sign of sadness, grief, and can indicate old heartbreak coming to the surface.
Everyone has experienced emotional pain that can sometimes be triggered without warming.
While you might prefer to let your own heartbreak lie dormant, the truth is anyone who wants to grow, evolve, and change will have to face their sadness in order to mature into their full self.
You could experience deep feelings this week. Whether it’s from a recent experience, or from something you barely remember, challenging emotions might rise to the surface in the coming days.
This sadness might not even feel like it’s yours. We all carry our own experiences as well as parts of the human collective energy.
You’ll know if it’s beyond your own emotions if there aren’t any particular memories associated with it, and if the grief feels infinitely large.
Regardless if this sorrow is yours or not, the best possible thing you can do is respect these emotions and give yourself space and time to be with what is arising in you.
Be kind to yourself and honor the process. This is not a time to stuff your feelings down and charge ahead.
Instead, create intentional space to feel what is arising. This might look like setting a timer for a period of time to lay on your back, breathe, and feel. Or you might take a long walk, or turn on music that resonates with what you’re feeling and gently move with what comes up.
The point is these feelings are alive in you. And if you decide to ignore them or push them away, they will continue to reside in you.
Only through respecting and honoring the process of letting them come forward will your feelings have a chance to be felt, integrated, and released.
If you consider your first two cards, it’s often the case that old emotions are what make you feel stuck in life. And it’s only when you get a chance to slow down, or be around people who really see you, that these old emotions have a chance to rise to the surface.
So rather than seeing sadness as a problem or something in your way, you might consider viewing it as a gateway into newfound energy and inspiration.
Once there is some movement and release, you will have a new outlook and new sense of yourself and your life.
Trust The Process
Taking steps towards a higher insight and something new, as the Eight of Cups is indicating, takes real courage.
You could feel like something isn’t working in your life right now. This need for change is a sacred calling, asking you to search for a fresh perspective.
But the truth is you don’t know what you will find on this exploration, which means you’ll have to trust the process and see what it is life wants to reveal to you.
Your second card, the Four of Wands, is perfectly aligned with the adventure you are on. You could be headed on vacation, or get a chance to spend time with people you feel deeply connected to.
It’s often when we get a chance to let go and relax that old emotions can rise to the surface. Your final card, the Three of Swords, is letting you know emotions could flood you in the coming days.
Emotional upheaval could be part of the adventure you are on to find renewal and rejuvenation.
So take it as a welcome sign you are headed in the right direction.
Nothing can be filled with new life and energy unless the old is emptied out.
So step in, because your life may be on the verge of a beautiful transformation.
And in service,
