Greetings friends! You’re in for an exciting, passion-filled spring! On the second of May, Venus entered the sign of Aries. This cosmic alignment creates an environment where intensity, pride and spontaneity thrive.  Venus’ stay in Aries will last until the end of May. Short and sweet as it may seem, this transit will provide an action packed month concerning love and relationships.  Here’s the rundown on how this shift in energy could impact your life from now until May 28th.

It’s All So New and Alive

Venus was in Pisces for the past month, bringing about a strong desire to deepen your relationships and find true love.  In short, Venus in Pisces is just about the exact opposite of Venus in Aries in every way.  The shift into Aries replaces feelings of sensitivity and romance with boldness and impulse.  In Aries, you might feel a striking desire to form fresh connections and stake new territory in your love life. You might get a spring in your step as you go about your daily life and chat it up with strangers for no reason at all.  Someone unexpected may even catch your eye, or if you’re committed, you might find yourself taking an exciting new adventure to renew the spark in your relationship.  All in all, you’ll probably feel active and passionate, as Venus in Aries brings with her a fun, flirty spring time vibe.  This time period breathes new fire into relationships, making love feel exciting and adventurous… However, it’s not without its pitfalls.  Venus is usually sensual, taking her time in love and romance. In Aries, however, she has little to no patience and wants things to happen right now! This can lead to a bit of an oil and water situation where you feel torn between doing what’s safe and secure…  or taking a gratifying risk.  In other words, big risks can lead to big rewards in your love life now, but you have to listen to your instincts and be willing to make the right decision when the time comes.

A Need For Impulse Control

Venus in Aries is here to shake things up whether you like it or not.  When Venus was in Pisces, it was all about “we” and “us” and “togetherness.” Venus in Aries is WAY more selfish than that! In this sign Venus feels out of touch with her usual softness, opting instead for quick hits of passion; and sometimes – a whole lotta drama! Domestic bliss may not feel so blissful for the time being.  You might find yourself caring less about what makes you feel warm and fuzzy, and more interested in what keeps you entertained.  You may even decide that you’re bored in your love life and want something else! Anything (or anyone) that fails to hold your attention might feel easy to let go like a balloon in the sky.  Since this influence can have you feeling more impulsive than usual, the desire to let go and seek new experiences can occur in an instant.  Just be mindful of your delivery to avoid things from going overboard. It’s possible that this can manifest as an argument started for no real reason.  Don’t let pride get in your way! At the end of the day, Aries really doesn’t care if the passion is positive or negative in expression, it just wants to feel some fire. But it’s not all drama and conflict.  Venus in Aries energy can be very beneficial for healing old wounds and overcoming relationship patterns that no longer serve you. (Note: This is especially true for May 15, as Venus conjoins Chiron triggering the wounds that need to be healed most! More on that in a future article.) Meaningful conversations are important during this time. They can be extremely impactful and healing – although not necessarily easy.  Aries likes to shoot first and ask questions last, so if you feel impulsive, you might want to think twice before you act.  You may feel the urge to cut through the B.S. in order to reach clear communication, and if you come across with tact, you’ll be surprised by how effective you are.  In fact, you could find yourself so fed up with the status quo that you demand a radical change to be made.  This could be as small as switching up your date night routine with your partner, or getting a full blown makeover with a brand new hair style.  Just remember, think twice before you go with your impulses during this time – just to be on the safe side.  If you can embrace your newfound courage, and not allow your impulses to override reason, you’ll be the one in the driver’s seat.

How To Set Your Heart Aflame

How can you harness this fireball of Venus in Aries energy?  Now is a great opportunity to try new things. Especially with your partner. All those, “Man, we should totally do that one day!” musings are just waiting to be put into action. You can try your hand at a new hobby or skill. Bonus points if it involves getting physical and moving your body! During these next few weeks, you might begin to feel stir crazy if you sit still for too long.  Working out together or an impromptu dance party while tending to daily chores together is a great way to physically express some of the fiery energy building up inside.  What feels adventurous to you? Whatever it is, explore that! You don’t have to scale Mount Everest, but doing something challenging and out of the ordinary will help hold off feelings of boredom or monotony.  No matter how you choose to switch things up, just be mindful to not let your impulses guide you completely. Critical thinking is still a valuable and necessary skill! Along with love, Venus also rules money and luxury.  Aries’ lack of forethought makes it very easy to carelessly spend money and even overspend. It wouldn’t hurt to set up a budget or adventure fund to ensure you don’t go beyond your means just for the sake of a good time. Venus in Aries is eager…. Eager to get started on new things and equally as eager to move on from them.  Keep this in mind and consider it when you connect with someone new during this period. Will this connection be worth sustaining once the excitement and novelty wears off?  You can even apply this to relationships you’ve already established. Has the novelty already worn off? Are you just going through the motions? You can channel the courageous influence of this transit to begin or end things at your own discretion.

Allow Venus’ fire to burn off old relationship baggage and reveal new ground to build upon.  There’s no such thing as being too authentic or too bold under Venus in Aries.
