Hello, my friends at Cosmic Updates. It is Deco back again with your weekly reading. This time, it’s for the week of July 23 through 29th. We are close, slowly creeping up toward August, and I’m so excited to see what this new month brings for us. But let’s see how we are going to finish out this month and make sure that we’re being our best. What do we need to do to show up as our best selves this week? Let’s find out together.
Oh, okay. Guys, this week is full of opportunity. Okay, a challenge, but an opportunity. Okay, so the Devil is in reverse. And when the Devil is in reverse, there is something that has been previously holding us back that is being revealed to us. Okay, the Devil, if it was upright, I would say that there’s something you’re not paying attention to that’s getting in your way. But when the Devil is in reverse, there’s a little bit of clarity that’s being awarded to us.
And I don’t think that this is going to be an easy beginning. I don’t think that you’re going to be like, “Heck, yeah, I’m jumping into this, and I’m excited for the challenge of taking a hard look at my life.” Because, let’s be honest, no one really wants to do that shadow work and have to worry about the dark things that we deal with on a regular basis, right. We don’t want to confront those things because they are a challenge, right.
The thing about the Devil is it can be something huge in your life that is debilitating and keeping you from showing up and being the best version of yourself. But it can also be something small that’s just getting in your way of you living your best life, right. My biggest examples of the Devil would be like addiction or a really bad habit, right. So addiction could be something that’s debilitating, that literally is taking you out of your relationships, your job, and whatever because you’re so focused on that addiction. But it can also be an obsession and addiction to something smaller, like maybe scrolling on the apps on social media or doing something instead of doing something that’s productive in your life, right.
It’s so easy to get home at the end of the day, sit on the couch, and scroll on your phone instead of doing the dishes and doing your taxes and doing whatever it is that needs to be done. But the Devil, when it’s in reverse, it’s like we have to take a hard look at our life. Again, you might have something huge, glaringly obvious in your life that you need to get rid of, and the Devil is suggesting that you confront that. But it might mean that there’s something smaller that you just need to paddle, okay.
And the reason that I think this is an opportunity, while yes, this is not something you’re excited about, this is something that you are emotionally prepared for, okay. The Ace of Cups is all about a new emotional, maybe a new spiritual, or a new creative beginning. And this is something that you are ready for, right. It’s upright, we’re looking at an overflowing cup that’s overflowing with ideas and inspiration, but also positive emotions that can lead you through this maybe difficult time as you’re addressing these challenges that you’ve been dealing with and trying to make sure that you’re living your life to the best of your ability, right.
And I think that, again, we have endless opportunities. This is our opportunity to try something completely new for ourselves, maybe we’re changing those habits and putting something else in their place that’s more productive. So maybe instead of scrolling on your phone when you get home every day, you’re doing something that is focused on cleaning your house. I’m thinking of personal examples, obviously.
But you can make that work for whatever makes sense for you, right. Whatever has been getting in your way, let’s get rid of that and look for a new opportunity, something different, that is going to help us be more productive, more enlightened, more light, just in general, right. I think that we have an opportunity here, though, to tackle those challenges. Now, how do we protect ourselves as we do that? Because when we’re looking at the hard parts of our life, is the easiest part for us to be hard on ourselves. So what do we do to make sure that we are doing this with kindness in our heart for ourselves, right? We’re, we’re our own best advocate, but we’re also our own worst enemy. And we can give ourselves the hardest time for the things that we’re working through. So what do we need to do to make sure that we’re being positive as we’re dealing with this Devil in our life, this thing that’s just getting in our way? What do we need to do to stay positive?
The Hanged Man popped out in reverse to start. So that’s telling you the larger picture is maybe a little bit of a challenge right now, okay. Okay, let’s see. We’re feeling out of touch. Okay, I think that’s an issue that we’re having here. Here’s what I’m seeing. We need to keep a childlike enthusiasm for this opportunity, right. This is an opportunity for us to look hard at our life and eliminate some things that don’t belong there anymore, that are just getting in our way of making us the happiest version of ourselves, right. So the Page of Cups is a really useful energy. It’s very emotionally driven, and it’s something that we need to maintain if we’re going to be kind to ourselves was right, because there’s a lot going on here, there’s a lot going on here that’s suggesting that this was going to be a challenge, right. It’s going to be a challenge to be kind to yourself and to really show up for yourself the best that you can, right. Because we’re dealing with difficult things.
So let me show you some of the things that could happen and the advice I would give for how to avoid those things, right. So the Hermit is in reverse, and the Hermit upright would suggest that this is time for reflection, right. And I think that’s what we need to be focused on is to try to be reflective and to try to do our best to solve these problems in our life, right. But when the Hermit’s in reverse, it’s like we’re isolating, you’re doing it all by yourself. And I think we need to be looking for the opposite of that, right. Yes, you might feel like this is your issue, this is your problem, and you need to fix it. It doesn’t mean that you need to do it 100% on your lonesome, right.
I think it’s going to keep you out of touch a little bit because the Hanged Man, when it’s in reverse, it’s like you’re not looking at the big picture. You’re not looking at the broader perspective to understand how to fix this problem, right. So the Hanged Man, he wants more knowledge, he wants to know, he wants that bigger picture. But the idea of isolating is just going to lead to that lack of perspective, that lack of understanding of how your behaviors are maybe getting in your way. Sometimes we have to ask other people in order to have that clarity on what’s holding us back. Because we don’t even realize that that’s a bad habit of ours. Like, “Oh, I didn’t know that I did that every day. I didn’t realize how many hours I spent on my phone. I didn’t realize that I wasn’t cleaning this area. I wasn’t doing my due diligence in this part of my job,” or whatever it is. And I think that lack of clarity would just lead to some mental upset with that King of Swords in reverse.
So, guys, the way that we can be kind to ourselves through this is to, again, keep that childlike enthusiasm. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. I think that’s going to be a challenge for you. And it might continue to be a challenge as you move forward because, again, the Devil is not an easy thing to confront. But it is something that we need to confront if we want to live our most full, happy, content, secure life right now.
How do we overcome those challenges? Because I see us struggling with them. How do we overcome them? What do we need to know about overcoming this obstacle of feeling like we need to isolate? What do we need to do for doing the hard work?
Interesting, guys, we have similar cards to the last one, we have the Hermit and the Hangman in reverse again, that popped out. And this is telling me that again, this is going to continue to be a challenge. This is going to be something that we’re going to have to keep confronting because we might want to give up.
Okay, the Five of Wands being in reverse is saying like, you may super be struggling here and have a hard time finding the resources, the enthusiasm, the energy to even put into this challenge. And you might even feel like giving up with this Four of Swords in reverse, you’re restless, you’re like, “I’m over this, I know that I’m doing it for my good, but I just want to be done.” And that’s reasonable. This is a hard challenge for us to confront this week.
So let’s pull an Oracle Card. I love this Oracle deck because it just helps with some guiding steps. What can we do to keep moving forward, not lose our momentum, not lose our motivation, and keep our eyes on the prize? How do we make sure that we eliminate that negativity?
Boundaries, my friends, weight of the world… boundaries, let it go. It’s not yours to carry, right. Okay. So as you are processing things for yourself, this is the time for you to say, you know what? I can ask for help. But I can’t have other people trauma dump on me. I can’t take on other people’s issues while I’m dealing with my own. So this is the time to set boundaries for yourself to say, “Yes, I love you. Yes, I want to support you in your journey. But right now, I need support in mind.”
And maybe that’s just weighing those relationships and deciding: “You know what, there’s some people that I just need to set a boundary with right now while I am processing the things that I’m processing, so that moving forward, I can help them right. But I need to focus on me first, before I start investing in someone else.” You can’t pour from an empty cup, right?
So, my friends, I think that you got a lot to do this week, right? This is the time for us to take a hard look at our life and decide what’s holding us back. And knowing that there are people around you that are going to boost you up, give you that motivation. Just remember you got to keep that childlike enthusiasm. Don’t let this grind this overwhelming sense that there’s something in your life that’s holding you back be a deterrent for you to take a hard look because again, that’s shadow work that working with the darkness As in our life is the hardest thing to do, but with enthusiasm and with clarity of knowing that this is to benefit you, I think that it’s going to help you to stay motivated and stay focused on where you want to be right and we need to start thinking about that. Where do you want to be? What is going to make you live the most full life? What is keeping you from being fully happy? Once you figure that out? You’ll know exactly what’s getting in your way. Best of luck, my friends.
